Kent Leung, 64, of Milpitas, CA, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away on Sunday, January, 13, 2013 in San Francisco, CA. He was born on April 6, 1948 to Kam-Kuen Leung and Kwai-In Choi Leung in Hong Kong. On November 21, 1974 he married Elizabeth (née Lam) in Reno, NV. Kent was a graduate of San Jose State University and Santa Clara University, earning both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Computer Science. Throughout his career, he had worked at Hewlett Packard, Silicon Compilers, Tandem Computers, and Cadence. During his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, reading, and most of all singing. Kent and Elizabeth often sang Cantonese Opera in the San Francisco Chinatown area.
He was survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth; their four sons, Gerald Jack Leung of Milpitas, CA, Hubert Leung of Milpitas, CA, Jonathan Ben Leung and his wife Kimmie of San Diego, CA, and Kenneth Ted Leung of San Diego, CA; two sisters Yuk-Kum Leung and her husband Raymond Chan of Oakland, CA and Leslie Leung of Milpitas, CA; his brother Arnold Leung of Hong Kong; and his mother Kwai-In Choi Leung of Milpitas, CA. He was preceded in death by his father Kam-Kuen Leung; his parents-in-law Arlin Lum and Kin-Chung Kwan Lam.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 18 at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park located at 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard Fremont, CA 94539. The service will begin at 12:45 pm; burial to follow immediately at 1:45 pm. Online condolences can be left on Kent Leung’s memorial tribute at www.kentleung.last-memories.com.
